National Express operates non-stop services between Gatwick and Heathrow - this takes about 75 minutes but does depend upon the motorway system operating well.

2 hours does not include any contingency so good luck.

There are more details at http://www.gatwickairport.com/transport/between-airports/

I need to switch planes between Heathrow and Gatwick, enroute to Inverness. I have about 2 hours between my connecting flight. What is the fastest way to get from Heathrow Airport to Gatwick Airport?

As their website states Stansted has a good choice of transport links to central London.

By train

The Stansted Express runs every 15 minutes and reaches London Liverpool Street in 45 minutes.

By bus or coach

Fast, frequent coaches run from Stansted to London destinations including Liverpool Street, Victoria, Stratford, Baker Street and Kings Cross. With fares starting at just a few pounds, this can be a really cost-effective way to travel. All services call at the airport coach station, directly opposite the terminal.

By car

Stansted is about 40 miles outside central London. Depending on your destination, you may have to pay the Congestion Charge.

By taxi

A taxi to central London for one to four people costs about £99, depending on destination.

If I am going to Exeter, which London Airport is best to fly into if I want to take a train to Exeter? Or is there a convenient bus from one of the airports to Exeter?

The Gatwick Express is an overground train which gets to Victoria, South London in 30 minutes.

Slightly slower is the normal rail system, this will cost less.

From Victoria you can take the tube system or a taxi to get to Kings Cross in about 20 minutes.

I looked at Chelsea's web site - it has no advice for travel to Chelsea!

Based on local knowledge the only two airports you should consider are Heathrow and Gatwick.

Heathrow had the tube line direct into London and a fast rail line - the Paddington Express.

Gatwick has a good train line into Victoria, also on the tube line.

Which one you choose will depend on where you start from, price and seat availability.

Train could be quicker, 45 mins, but you would need to go into London Liverpool Street and change - inconvenient if you have many suitcases.

Coach will be a little slower, 90 mins, but a one stop solution.

Suggest you look at the BAA website as they advise on how you get between airpoorts.
